World Heart Day is a global initiative to educate and motivate people to care for their hearts. On 29 September 2022, the Singapore Heart Foundation (SHF) will work with 24 buildings and landmarks across Singapore to illuminate the night sky in red to mark World Heart Day 2022. The colour red symbolises heart health while serving as a warning to look out for the red flags of cardiovascular disease.

Eight new buildings will be participating in the Go Red for World Heart Day light-up for the first time this year, including Science Centre Singapore, Junction 8, Our Tampines Hub, Wisma Atria and more. The other buildings and iconic landmarks include Gardens by the Bay, Helix Bridge, Sports Hub, SGH Museum, Orchardgateway, Singapore Flyer and more.

In line with this year’s theme, SHF will also host a social media challenge to encourage everyone to take steps to lower their blood cholesterol. One lucky winner will stand a chance to win a Xiaomi Smart Band 7, and three other winners will receive an exclusive SHF goodie bag.
The contest will take place from 22 September to 2 October 2022, 23:59. Winners will be announced on 7 October on SHF’s Facebook and Instagram pages.
To take part in the contest, you will need to:
Take a photo of a red-lit building or landmark and post it on your Instagram or Facebook Story or Feed (note: make sure your account is public)
Add a sticker from SHF exclusive sticker pack (type “SHF” on the search bar) and choose the one you like the most!
