In celebration of Singapore’s 60th birthday, FairPrice Group (FPG) is giving us all a delicious reason to shop local — with the launch of its very first Made in Singapore (MIS) Farmers Market. Happening from 2–3 August 2025 at FairPrice Xtra JEM, the in-store market is a lively weekend affair designed to spotlight our homegrown farmers and proudly Singaporean produce.

Expect a festival-like atmosphere filled with interactive booths, fun games, cooking demonstrations, and limited-time deals. From crunchy local veggies to sustainably farmed seafood and even spinach ice cream (yes, really!), there’s something for the whole family to enjoy. A standout experience? Sampling Nippon Koi Farm’s innovative spinach ice cream — a testament to just how far local food innovation has come.

Little ones (and the young at heart) will love the chance to win adorable local produce mascot plushies, while bargain hunters can snap up $0.60 trays of eggs and seafood promos at just $6. That’s not just tasty — it’s budget-friendly too.

FairPrice is partnering with the Singapore Food Agency (SFA) to bring in cooking demos that put a local spin on household favourites like Egg Foo Yong and Steamed Fish with Crispy Chai Poh. These sessions not only teach you how to elevate your home cooking but also reinforce how locally grown ingredients can pack both flavour and nutrition.

This initiative is part of FairPrice Group’s broader commitment to strengthen Singapore’s food resilience by supporting the local farming community. The inaugural market features over 60 locally farmed products from six homegrown farms — including long-standing favourites like Sustenir, Chew’s Egg, and The Fish Farmer, alongside new players such as vertical farm operator Growy.

Since early 2024, FPG has observed steady growth in demand for local produce. Their shelves now stock nearly 180 homegrown items, reflecting our growing appetite for sustainable and locally sourced food.

Following the Farmers Market, FPG will roll out its annual Made in Singapore Fair — a two-week nationwide celebration with islandwide promotions and discounts on Singapore-made products both in-store and online.

This SG60 initiative joins a slew of heartwarming efforts by FairPrice this year, including:

  • Price freezes on key groceries during Chinese New Year

  • A 12-week ‘Celebrate with FairPrice for Less’ campaign

  • Over $5 million in May Day discounts for NTUC Union and Link members

  • Three rounds of FairPrice Return Vouchers aligned with CDC support

  • The latest edition of the Save Every Day campaign, offering $1,000+ in savings across 400+ vouchers

By spotlighting local farms and empowering everyday Singaporeans to shop fresh and shop local, the Made in Singapore Farmers Market shows us how patriotic can also be practical — and pretty delicious too.
